Privacy policy

Voicecloak records and transcribes your speech entirely on your device. Your audio and transcripts are never uploaded to our servers, because we do not operate servers that receive them. We do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not use your voice to train models.

While you hold the record button, Voicecloak captures audio through your iPhone microphone and converts it to text using on-device speech recognition. The audio is held in memory only for as long as it takes to produce the transcript, then discarded. It is not written to a permanent file, backed up, or transmitted off the device.

The resulting text is placed on your system clipboard so you can paste it wherever you like. Once it is on the clipboard, it is governed by iOS and by whichever app you paste it into — including any clipboard syncing you may have enabled across your own Apple devices.

If you email or message us to request a TestFlight slot or support, we receive whatever you send us: your email address or social handle, your message, and any details you choose to include. We use this only to correspond with you and to manage beta access.

Beta testing is distributed through Apple TestFlight. When you join, Apple provides us with limited information under its own terms, which may include your name, email address, device model, iOS version, and crash or usage diagnostics you have opted to share. We use this to fix bugs and understand which devices to support. Apple’s handling of that data is covered by Apple’s privacy policy, not this one.

We do not collect your recordings, your transcripts, your clipboard contents, your contacts, your location, or your browsing activity. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs inside the app, and we do not build advertising profiles.

Audio is discarded as soon as a transcript is produced. Correspondence you send us is kept for as long as needed to answer you and administer the beta, then deleted. TestFlight builds and their associated diagnostics expire according to Apple’s retention schedule.

You can revoke microphone or speech recognition permission at any time in iOS Settings, which stops Voicecloak from functioning and cuts off its access entirely. You can delete the app to remove its local data. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you, and to withdraw consent — email us and we will action it.

Voicecloak is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page and revise the date above. Material changes affecting existing testers will be communicated by email.
